You can make a difference!

A simple vision of one person has helped build an empowered organization that supports many charities in India.

Pam Hudson (MBE) has resided in New Delhi, India since 1989. 12 years ago Pam decided to start producing craft items and homemade Jams, Chutneys and other food items. She now sells an extensive range of items, with all proceeds going to different charities which she supports. These include:

In 2005 Pam was recognized for the charitable work she has carried out and was awarded the prestigious Member of the British Empire (MBE) which she received from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

She has inspired many individuals and companies to understand that if each one of us makes a small difference to the lives of the disadvantaged, it makes a billion of helping hands. Many Individuals and Companies provide free of cost raw materials to make these handcrafted items that are sold purely for Charity.
The great influence of her charitable work over the years is supported by the testimony provided by various charities and organizations.

CanSupport

Mrs. Pam Hudson has supplied us with tins of ‘Ensure’ a nutritional supplement for some years, donated gifts at various festive occasions to the children who are always excited to receive her offerings which include cartoon DVD’s, stuffed toys, video games, blankets, soft cushions, fruits, cookies and garden umbrella’s for use at the Day care. Also with cash Donations, Pam Hudson also helps in selling Can Support greeting cards, calendars at various mela’s and exhibitions both in India and abroad to raise funds for our programs. In the past she worked towards one of outreach programs and helped to get a Van Donated for our Doctors and nursing team’s visits. On one occasion she sent over a Trunk that had been hand painted by one of her friends - full of toys. Helped us to buy some soft chairs for our Day Care Patients, also a printer and used computers, used Desks when we moved our centre some years ago.

We are indebted to her for her continued support to Can Support.

Udayan Care

Each of Mrs. Hudson’s support to Udayan Care comes with so much love and in premeditated way. Whether it be blankets for the children in the Udayan Ghars, toys, kitchen equipment, bedding, pillows, towels, stationery, camera or in the long ago past a washing machine; Each donation is not just any form of donation but a well thought out arrangement towards care for the children who need our love. It is more than a decade now, since the first association and it has been continuing ever since. She has been instrumental in taking forward the value of Udayan Care, that is, to recreate the warmth in the lives of the orphaned, abandoned and abused children. We thank her for her continued support.

House of Peace

We are thankful to Mrs. Pam Hudson for supporting our children from such a long time by donating, a wheelchair, sewing machine, knitting wool, books, clothes, toys, cookies, cartoon DVD’s, blankets, school bags school shoes and also occasionally she arranges party’s for the children which we all enjoy the most. Lots of boxes, clothes and Toys arrive from Dubai.

One of the most memorable days we had, and we want to go back soon was a visit to the IBG Factory where we saw many machines being used, clothes being made, storage on shelves, printing machine, we had a nice lunch of Pizza and Ice Cream on the bus we all then wanted to become tailors.

She arranged a nice Christmas Dinner for us last Christmas which was much appreciated. We are grateful for all her support.

Children of the world

Mrs. Pam Hudson has provided nutritional aid in the form of milk powder for these children in the communities. This contribution is indeed a great help for the organization. Besides this, she has even organized Christmas and New Year party for children at Mamta Child care Centre. Both the staff and the children get an opportunity to enjoy the occasion and integrate with other NGOs in the neighborhood.

We have enjoyed Games of Bingo and visited her home many times.

All of us at the Jeevashram family are very grateful to Mrs. Pam Hudson for her generous support, on a regular basis.

Her kindness towards speechless animals and concern doesn’t need words. Mrs. Hudson has constantly helped our shelter and the Animal Hospital, whether she is in the country or traveling she has made sure help always reaches our animals. This support is an example for other people. We all need people like Pam Hudson to make our dreams come true to remove cruelty towards animals and to make this world free from suffering.

India Vision Foundation

We acknowledge with gratitude the kind support given by Mrs. Hudson for the Crèche children. We truly appreciate her interest and willingness in helping the little ones. The children enjoyed playing with toys, educational material given by her. They look beautiful and well dressed with the uniforms donated by her. Whenever we need anything for the children she is always there to help them.

Her friends sometimes come with her and this year Mrs. Sorenson donated to the ladies and children in the Crèche and Weaving project a Water cooler so nice of her.

The Children of the Crèche enjoyed very much the Christmas party organized by Pam Hudson, her team and her family which was held at her home.

We always share our Crèche Diwali Party with Mrs. Hudson she always gives a nice gift for all the ladies in Jail who help with the projects, lots of times it was shawls, last year it was a Suit for them to wear. Sometimes she in travelling, we invite her to the shared children’s birthday party and if she can and is I town she always comes.

Mrs. Hudson and her friends who left a long time ago have visited Tihar many times over the years. They started a sewing Project of Bottles Bags, and Gift bags with nice fabric and sequins and ribbon in many pretty colours. They had sewing machines donated to us from IBG for this project. IBG tailors came a few times to the jail and helped to teach us stitching skills.

The girls of Tihar enjoyed very much this project with nice colours and were happy doing this work. This has been a very special successful project for many years.

The ladies sometimes brought us small shampoo for hair or oil for hair and soap as a thank you gift for us. It is nice to feel we are doing something good and nice.

The weaving project has been a project that has been helped for by these ladies, they sometimes bought us the wool, it is from very far away, they gave us New Ideas and New designs. They helped to get pretty colours and pretty leathers to match with the help of someone who made handbags. Mrs. Hudson has provided DVD players, Television for weaving project so the girls are happy when they are working.

The Card and gift Tag Project in the Yamuna Pushka Slums was started by the same three ladies. It was very deep inside the slums but at the same time there was a security problem so Dr. Kiren Bedi arranged for the project to work on the roof top of the Nearby Police Station. It was a very difficult project to keep the paper card and envelope paper clean and all worked on the floor. The cards made by young 16year old girls from the slums were very nice and of beautiful designs. This helped the girls with a nice salary and they had to take good care of their appearance and be very clean or all paper was lost.

Then the Slums were no more and the project ended as the girls moved away.

Family Vision

Family Vision, a unit of The Family India, is an organization devoted to building a caring culture through education and training seminars, innovative social initiatives, and life-changing personal growth programmes. Our goals are:

  • To help people live happy, productive and meaningful lives
  • To alleviate pain and suffering
  • To improve the quality of life of those in need.

We have had the privilege of knowing Mrs. Pam Hudson for over a decade and time and space would fail us to list the many ways that she has helped Family Vision’s work with the needy and the underprivileged. She has been a faithful supporter of our work with the children of women prisoners at Tihar Jail (The Freedom Project). She has also helped us conduct relief and rehab programmes as far back as the Gujarat earthquake in 2000 and the Tsunami in 2004. She has made it possible for us to do annual Children’s Day Programmes for over 2000 children, and has also facilitated our Equal Opportunity Programmes for disadvantaged children.

We are deeply grateful to Mrs. Hudson for her kindness and generosity .
